My First Earning From Adsense!
July 21st, officially, that’s the date where my first official earning from my coffee pot niche site! I’ve been contemplating the past two days that I’ve probably chosen the wrong niche as further keyword and consumer activity research tells me there’s no money in my niche. Not only are the popular items cheap to begin with (less than $50 for most items, $150 is considered REALLY high-end already for my niche). The keyword EXACT term searches are mighty low (under 50 GLOBALLY!) and all that stuff.
I’ve pretty much decided to keep my ‘labor’ as low as possible with this site and move on to better niches, maybe add an article a month to article directories for backlinks, or add one page of content a month for indexing purposes. My only goal is to attempt to take the #1 spot for my keyword phrase. The money part is irrelevant and not the purpose of this niche site, it’s learning how to get top search position and SEO practices.
OK, going back to my niche site. I usually check my Adsense performance 3x a day, and my Adsense date counter adjusts every GMT+8 15:30 daily (3:30PM – GMT+8).
Around 3:15PM, I decided to grab some late lunch after checking my Adsense summary and as usual, only my photography tutorial site made a few bucks.
I came back around 3:45PM and and checked my Adsense summary, by now, the page already moved to the next day. I clicked on “Yesterday” and all of a sudden, my two Adsense channels for the coffee pot site showed one click EACH!
According to Analytics, my non-direct traffic (meaning, traffic that didn’t come from someone typing the URL of the niche site directly) came from organic Google search (3 visits) and StumbleUpon (8 visits). Let me explain about the StumbleUpon part, I simply installed the StumbleUpon toolbar and “Liked” my post on my site to bookmark it. Other StumbleUpon users who are interested with my niche topic probably found the post and landed on my site.
So there you have it. My first earnings from Adsense!
A measley $0.31, obviously it’s a tiny amount, but my photography site started the same way as well if you check my post about my Adsense income of my DSP site. The site became “live” last July 13th, and indexed by Google on July 14th, so it took less than a week for my first click.
My photography site didn’t earn its first buck until a full month after and the site had over 10 long articles or so before income trickled in. This coffee niche site has 5 content pages with less than 600 words each!
If this site can give me the same results and I can replicate this over several sites, I’m happy about it.
Remember, this first site is nothing more than a live-classroom project to learn SEO, niche sites, article submissions, etc. I’m not delusional to think I’ll make 30 cents daily at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t get any clicks for the rest of the month.
I wasn’t expecting to until 2 months after or so anyway for Google and other search engines to fully crawl my links and site. However, nothing is more motivating than seeing your website earn its first buck (or even a third of a buck)!
So if you’re still wondering whether you can earn from Adsense even with little to no internet marketing, SEO, or budget, this is proof that you can, you just need to take ACTION! I spent quite a bit of time tweaking this site to the best of my ability with what I know now, it’s nice to see some results no matter how small it may be.
